Hi, I am Rebecca, the artist behind RT illustrates.

My love for art started from a young age, where I remember making my own certificates and always colouring in; that creative spark stayed with me, eventually leading me to study Textiles and Surface Design, specialising in interior print, where I graduated with First Class Honours.

I’ve always loved the idea of creating something that nobody else has. Something personal, a little bit different and completely unique to you. Whether it’s a hand-painted glass, a bespoke wedding piece or a colourful window display, I love taking an idea and bringing it to life in a way that can’t simply be bought off the shelf.

For me, art has always been more than just creating something beautiful. It’s my happy place, a way to switch off, express myself and find a little bit of calm in a busy world.

After graduating, I spent around 15 years working in the corporate world. Alongside my career, I’d also spent much of my life caring for my disabled Mam, who I sadly lost Christmas 2025.

Losing her gave me a lot to think about. It made me reflect on what I really wanted from life and work: more freedom, a better balance, time to be creative and the chance to focus on the things that matter.

So, I decided to take the leap, leave behind the security of my corporate career and give my art the time and energy it deserved. RT Illustrates has become so much more than a business to me, and I’m so glad I took that chance.

Today, I get to spend my time doing what I love most: creating unique, hand-painted pieces with personality, from special keepsakes and beautiful wedding signage to large-scale window paintings, every piece is created by hand, with care, creativity and plenty of attention to detail.

You don’t need to have everything figured out; sometimes the best ideas start with just a little spark of inspiration.
